Story

Sensational Tollywood hero Vijay Deverakonda is back on screen with his Geetha govindam pair Rashmika Mandanna in debutant director Bharat Kamma's Dear Comrade which had been creating huge hype ever since it's launch. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Dear Comrade review.

Bobby is an aggressive student union leader while Lilly is a state cricketer and they're family friends who fall in Love. But his aggressive manner and anger issues lead to troubles and they separate. Bobby goes on a self-discovery trip and then returns after a while to reclaim love but Lilly has several other problems. What happened to Lilly's cricket dreams, why she left Bobby, was Bobby able to win Lilly back in his conflict between his ideologies and love is what Dear Comrade is all about.

Star Performance

Vijay Deverakonda delivers a top notch performance as the angry Bobby who's madly in love as well and goes on a self discovery path. Rashmika Mandanna as Lilly perfectly complements his act with her cute as well as emotional act. Suhas is good with his timing as well as supporting act,  Shruti Ramachandran is lovely and delivers a subdued act while the rest of the cast including Charu Haasan, Anand are adequate.

Techinical Team

Justin Prabhakaran delivers a soothing background score and of his songs, Kadalalle, Girra Girra, Comrade anthem and Mama choodara are impressive. Cinematography by Sujith Sarang is top notch while editing by Sreejith Sarang could have trimmed several dragged episodes.

Analysis

Debutant director Bharat Kamma's got a good pair to support his maiden directorial venture and Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna perfectly elevate the simple movie to a different level. The first half of Dear Comrade establishes the angry Bobby and the development of Bobby - Lilly love and is cute and the second half, the redemption and soul searching journey is a bit intense and slightly dragged, though it ends on a lovely note. There are many memorable romantic cute moments and mass moments too throughout the screenplay that make Dear Comrade a worthy entertainer that'll sure stay in hearts. With lovely performances by Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, soulful music by Justin Prabhakaran and a poetic and intense screenplay by Bharat Kamma, Dear Comrade is your perfect weekend watch.
