Year has started with ‘A shyam gopal varma film’ which is a flop. Coming to stars movie; ‘Gopala gopala’ has successfully attracted family audience and did well for first week. Kalyan Ram’s first hit in fifteen years of film industry is recorded by ‘Patas’. ‘Beruva’ stood as a flop and many small movies like intelligent idiots; ladies and gentlemen etc went unnoticed.
February is opened again by flops like ‘Dorakadu’; ‘Gaddam gang’. ‘Malli malli edi rani roju’ was released with a classical touch but not commercial hit. Puri once again showed his anger in ‘Temper’ which did well only due to NTR fans and songs. Nothing’s new in taking of movie.
‘Surya vs surya’ has given a relieving experience for this summer with a new story line. ‘Evade subramanyam’ also did well successfully. Nobody knew about Anand-2 came as ‘Anandam malli modalaindi’. ‘Rey’ Sai dharma teja tried to touch fans hearts but knew that he is far away. ‘Jill’ Gopi chand gave chilled experience to the audience.
‘Avunu-2’ by Ravi babu is not at least below the mark. High expected ‘Son of Satyamurthi’ came before fans on April 9 successfully attracted audience but the deviated talk couldn’t attract collections. Anyhow; it’s a good movie with moral values. ‘Budugu’; ‘Varadhi’; ‘Kai raja kai’; names seems familiar but not seen on screens. Even Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Dochei’ gave the same result.
May has given bitter results for successful actors also. Manchu lakshmi’s ‘Dongata’ is better than ‘Rajahmundry ki 50 km duram lo’ anyhow both are failures. Bala Krishna’s ‘Lion’ couldn’t roar fiercefully. Ram’s and Rukul preeth’s ‘Pandaga chesko’ left fans with dissatisfaction.
Puri’s son entered industry with ‘Andhra pori’ which is a remake which got him recognisation; not fame. Nara Rohit came as ‘Asura’ with a different story but couldn’t attract people. Sampurnesh babu’s ‘Singam 123’ has given a disastrous gift to Manchu production house. Only Puri and Charmi should know the original story of ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’ where people are still in confusion. ‘Kerintha’; a low budget hit movie gave good profit to Dil Raju. ‘Kriahnamma kalipindi eddarini’; a routine old story people are fed up with. Sandeep kishan’s another entertainer ‘Tiger’ has not done well in attracting either audience or collections.
After a wait of three complete years Bahubali has got released; with enormous success and world records. It has justified the awaitening and delay as the fights; making and acting are extra ordinary and outstanding. Other movies have been postponed due to Bahubali release. At month end ‘James bond’ was released where allari Naresh once again got shot out.
One of the biggest notable hits from Telugu industry is ‘Srimanthudu’ where it turned Mahesh babu’s career. Story and action is the movie. This has shown Mahesh still cute and handsome. This has become a trend setting idea for the decade. Mahesh himself adopted a village in Andhra and Telangana where other celebrities followed him. At the month end; Kick-2 came with half the kick of first movie.
September openings are made with ‘Dynamite’ which gave a heart stroke to the audience. A little mix up of comedy and Gajani made movie predictable. ‘Bhale bhale mogadivoy’ has shown new Maruthi to people. Now people can recognize Maruthi before and after ‘bhale bhale’. ‘Courier boy’ Nitin failed to deliver good movie to audience. Sai Dharam tej attacked people once again as ‘Subramanyam for sale’. This time also nobody listened to him.
Another high expected movie with graphics is ‘Rudramadevi’ has faced many hurdles; problems and at last got released. Twist in the movie is; money is spent more on graphics than settings. Allu Arjun’s action dominated other two actors Anushka and Rana. Though the director cum producer got to safe side within 20 days of collection overseas. ‘Bruce lee- the fighter’ no where matched the story. It’s mere like a routine movies of Tollywood with predictable story. People got habituated to Sreenu Vaitla and Kona Venkat. Soon they will be replaced by new ones or their scripts should be replaced. Or it will be difficult to survive in this competitive industry. Another hit of the year is ‘Kanche’ by Krish and Varun tej; which brought humanity out of each and everyone. ‘Raju gari gadi’stood as average made ‘Omkar’ a horror director. Kalyan Ram’s ‘Sher’ followed Balakrishna’s ‘Lion’.
Colours Swathi’s ‘Tripura’ has given great contribution to movie off-screen but pushed aside in the rush of ‘Akhil’. The huge launching of this hero was not met with the success which made audience upset. He would have gone for meaningful story instead of powerful director. ‘Kumari 21F’ a third grade movie with a classical making has successfully collected huge profit. Anyhow Raj Tarun is managing to get success. ‘Size zero’ Anushka reached family audience but couldn’t entertain all class people though it had good stardom and trendy story.
Kona Venkat’s ‘Sankarabharanam’ failed to attract people in spite of its beautiful music and hilarious comedy. Mass hero Ravi teja continued his flops era with ‘Bengal tiger’. ‘Loafer’ ; with mixed results gave a good news to ‘Puri’ facing failures and bad Varun Tej who is enjoying success of ‘Kanche’. Gopi chand gave same old routine movie with ‘Soukhyam’ which has upset audience and fans. ‘Jatha kalise’ and ‘Bhale manchi roju’ are doing well. ‘Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu’ came out with same old story and recorded a failure.
Apart from this Shankar’s ‘I’ also couldn’t catch people’s eye. Vishal lost his route in ‘Palnadu’. Surya’s ‘Rakshasudu’ couldn’t meet even the dubbing expenditure. And small dubbing movies went unnoticed. However ‘Mayuri’; ‘Raghuvaran B.Tech’ successfully collected profits along with straight Telugu movies.
