Bandipotu Review - Story
Director Mohana Krishna Indraganti's Bandipotu
is the story of a modern day Robin hood with some entertainment.
Vishwanath (Naresh Allari) is an accomplished manipulator in Hyderabad.
Who always tries to cheat the big shot and help the needy. At this time,
Jhanavi (Eesha) blackmails Vishwanath to chisel the head honcho’s
Makrand Rao (Tanikella Bharini), Seshagiri (Rao Ramesh) and Bhale Babu
(Posani Krishna Murali). In a short gap, Vishwanath supports the
retaliation and starts penning ideas to drop-down the big guns. What
instigated Vishwanath transformation? Did he accomplish his plans?
That’s what the film is all about.
Bandipotu Review - Star Performance
Performance wise, Naresh Allari gives everyone a
sense of déjà vu with his performance. A significant aspect of his
humdrum in every film would probably be the lack of success he achieves
in trying anything away from his image. Though his characterization is
different from his earlier films, yet his histrionics give us the déjÃ
vu of Dongalabandi. Anthaku Mundu Ah Taruvatha fame Eesha, isn’t given
much scope at all, but she is photogenic and her expressions are pretty
good. Shubhalekka Sudhakar enacts the role of the Eesha’s father, with
ease. Rao Ramesh does quite a fine job. Chandra Mohan hams the life out
of himself, but doesn’t go anywhere. Posani Krishna Murali and Tanikella
Bharani are okay. Shraddha Das looks fine in her special song, but it
contributes to nothing in the film. Much talked Sampoornesh role has no
great shakes, especially considering his previous repertoire of
performances in Hrudaya Kaleyam and Pessarattu. Sapthagiri, Avasarala
Srinivas are middling in their roles.
Bandipotu Review - Techinical Team
The story is simple and basic, just as it
expected to be. A group cheats chairman of financial bank and descendent
comes to take the revenge on subverts. It reminds us of films like
Srimannarayana, Athade Oka Sainyam, Baazigar etc. But what was not
expected to be was how poorly things run down. We can understand a film
with a thin script as long as it has some entertaining elements to make
up for it. Unfortunately for Bandipotu there are no moments like this to
speak of. A film with a weak script and no entertainment is absolutely
helpless. The first half of the film seems purposeless, while the second
half drags like no tomorrow. The film is very badly edited. Especially
the second half becomes too long with the logic less angles, political
agenda and the flash back that form it. There is absolutely no smooth
flow in the film at all. They are just struck in one point for too long
of a period time. This causes the film to be boring and dragged. Another
issue is the fact that they tried to pack to many things into one film.
You go from comedy scene, to revenge point, then to a romantic sequence
and song. It just doesn’t work, I know commercial films have a little
bit of everything and that’s fine, if you can pull it off. Bandipotu
fails in this because it seems like everything here is being rammed to
make a different entertainer. It just makes things worse as it mires
down the film big time.
Coming to other technical aspects, Cinematography of the film is solid. The locals of Hyderabad, as well as Europe look beautiful. Music by Kalyani Malik for the film is, for the lack of better word, soothing. “Alijadalu” is probably best track of the film, while “Edo Mayalle” has the best picturization. Dialogues in the film are good in parts. Art department was all right. Production values of EVV Cinema are fine.

Bandipotu Review - Analysis
Thirty minutes in to the movie many may ask
themselves “why on earth am I sitting here?” but the trick to get the
fine parts of Bandipotu is to sit with longanimity. The poor screenplay
and logicless narration can be blamed for this. The movie is immensely
dragged out infact, its takes a good twenty minutes for the movie to get
to its point and even then it takes a further thirty minutes or so for
the main point issue to arise. One may think why on earth Naresh &
Aryan decided to invest in a movie that not only has a casual point and
also noncommercial packaging?
Overall, barring a few spirited moments in the first half, Bandipotu has very little to offer to the discerning audience in terms of entertainment values.
