Top director’s wife applied for Divorce

Well known director Priyadarshan and his actress wife Lissy have decided to end their marriage. Lissy filed for divorce Monday here. The couple have been married for 25 years and have two children who are currently studying abroad. "It is with profound sadness that I am announcing that I and Priyadarshan have decided to get separated after 24 years of marriage. I have filed for divorce today (Monday) in Chennai family court. Both our children and close friends are aware of this decision," Lissy, said in a statement. Priyadarshan is a well known filmmaker who known for his comedy films and he directed films in across all major film industries like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.He directed two films in Telugu Nirnayam and Gaandeevam, starring Nagarjuna and Balakrishna respectively.Reportedly, things turned bitter between the couple since the beginning of the year. Lissy was 16 when she first met Priyadarshan on the sets of his 1984 film "Odaruthammava Alariyam", and fell in love during the course of the shoot. Earlier, there were rumours suggesting that former actress Lissy and Priyadarshan are planning to get divorced but the director condemns the news.There were speculations that Lissy had demanded ₹80 crore as remuneration from Priyadarshan.
