Top actress detained for drug trafficking in Kenya

Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni and her partner Vicky Goswami are reportedly arrested in Kenya for drug trafficking. According to reports Mamta, who has been absent from the film circuit for a while now was detained by Kenya police for her alleged role in drug trafficking. Mamta Kulkarni is a Bollywood top actress in the Nineties. Mamta, who began her Bollywood career with the 1992 movie "Tirangaa", was known in the industry for her controversies than her performances. The actress made headlines when she posed topless for the popular film magazine Stardust in 1993.Mamta was last seen in Dev Anand’s Censor which released in 2001. Mamata soared to fame with Bollywood hits like Aashiq Awara, Waqt Hamara Hai, Krantiveer, Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Baazi, China Gate and Beqabu. Mamta’s husband Vicky Goswani had earlier been imprisoned in Dubai for drug trafficking and he was released on the grounds of good conduct. In 2012, Mamta had married 52-year-old Vicky while he was serving his sentence in a Dubai jail.Vicky was arrested in Dubai for trafficking 11.5 tonnes of Mandrax worth $6 Million in 1997. Mamta is currently being quizzed by the police for her alleged involvement in the case, she might be deported to India if found guilty.
