Singing Sensation in Jail?

The bollywood singing sensation Ankit Tiwari and his brother Ankur Tiwari were arrested on Thursday May 8, 2014. A female friend of Ankit lodged a complaint against Ankit for raping her on several occasions since year on the pretext of marriage. Senior P.I.Bordke Versova Police Station, Mumbai confirms- “We arrested Ankit and his brother Ankur at 11 P.M. last night. I am taking them to the court right now. After the decision of the court I will be able to update you as to how many days he will be under our custody." The victim, who said to be Ankit’s girlfriend complained that Ankit repeatedly raping her since October 2012 for over a year with the promise to marry her. When Ankit failed to keep his promise, she approached the police. Ankit's brother scared and threatened her about the same. Meanwhile, the victim underwent a medical test at a civic-run hospital; reports are yet to be out. Ankit who has won some prestigious awards, including IIFA and Filmfare for best music direction has become the third bollywood celebrity to be arrested in rape charges in recent past along with Inder Kumar being arrested on April 25, 2014 and Shiney Ahuja arrested on June 14, 2009.
